Fun Fact - When I was fairly young, in the four to five year old range, I came down with an earache. I was staying with my grandparents, since it was the summer, and my cousin up the road had just gotten over an earache so they sent down the remainder of her medicine. The first night that the earache was bad I couldn’t sleep, and my grandmother sat up with me in my grandfather’s big old recliner. She put pillows on the floor register to warm them, and I put the warm pillows against my ear and it helped soften the pain.
Since I couldn’t sleep, she cast about on TV for something for us to watch, which was easier said that done- this was before cable TV had made it to rural America and as yet almost no one owned a VCR. The odds of finding something a child would like on nighttime network TV were pretty slim.
But strangely, there happened to be an all-night Godzilla marathon playing. So we sat up and watched terrible cut and dubbed versions of Mothra, Godzilla vs. Ghidorah, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, All Monsters Attack, and Godzilla vs. Megalon. Finally the medicine kicked in and I drifted off to sleep, probably to the relief of my grandmother (who is a stellar human being, but not much of a giant monster movie fan :)
And my lifelong fondness for Godzilla was born.

This is why, any time I’m sick, I just watch Godzilla movies. It’s what I’ve done since I was little. They’re just so...
